Learning Units (Hours)
Norman J. Friedman, M.S.
This four hour on-line course is designed to introduce the terminology and the generic types of information to include in the air permit application in the form of plots, checked calculations, completed forms, detailed facility information, and the identification and quantification of actual and potential-to-emit emissions from each source that is then summed for the emission inventory report.
The requirements for preparing air operating permit applications, known as Title V permits based upon the section of the original law promulgated in the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990, involve a number of different engineering and technical skills.
In order to meet current government regulatory agency requirements, it is recommended that facility representatives or qualified professional consultants contact the specific state or federal agency with jurisdiction over the entity seeking this type of air permit. Since air operating permits were specified in the Title V section of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA), these types of permits were named Title V permits.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
